When the question is asked ' who do you do it for' your name will be mentioned.
When they look at me sideways I will ignore the tension.
I will embrace the happiness as memories come into my head.
From racing go-karts around community cash until the times we jumped in the bed.
...

If i threated tomorrow and poked at next week with a couple of knives.
Maybe the month would fly away into the great blue skies.
Would it return before its time to show up.
Or leave us alone because we are too far gone & too corrupt.
...

Unhappiness creeps upon the soul of the un expected.
Un happiness is disliked but well respected.
You know like that dude with a rough past but made something out of it.
But un happiness never allows recovery like it throws you in a pit.

My pledge to be a successful young adult
My pledge, pay attention quote by quote
"I will be the best man to my ability"
"If you don't like me you can try to get rid of me"
...

If Muhammad Ali makes medicine sick; I gave a cold the flu.
I am one bad muthafucka I thought yall knew.
One time I even hurt the ground.
I jumped in the air, landed and heard a cracking sound.
...

I get up in life to get drug back down
I sit in one spot waiting for it to circle back around
Smiles turning to frowns day in and night out
Sit and pray for rain to get nothing but drought
...

Staring into space thinking about life
For some reason its not living up 2 all of the hype
Is it the bad parts taking over the good
Or could it be that the way of life should be understood
...

At some point in ones life he becomes confused.
He is lost in the wicked way the world moves.
When he is confused he can't function as he should.
At this point of confusion is where I stood
...

What happens when two worlds collide?
Does it leave everything dead like a homicide?
Does it cause much confusion?
Or do we pretend everything is ok and believe the illusion?
...

That awkward silence of death.
You hear the terrifying news and it as if your heart has left.
It has left you shaken and shook up.
And all at once your emotions erupt.
...

Run-away train run-away train.
Head feels like its spinning from thoughts racing through my brain.
Run-away train why are you so shy?
Run-away train things will get better look into the sky.
...

Frustration over crowding confusion.
The world we pretend our own is an illusion.
The devil does work with folks in disguise.
But we know there is a heaven that lies above those great skies.
...

If mama said it would be days like this she had a rough road.
Days when you’re tired of everything and ready to explode.
Releasing all of your emotions and deepest feeling.
All of a sudden you give in and began kneeling.
...

If love was unconditional.
Then hatred may become traditional.
But no love lost means no love gained.
And my heart weighs heavy like a towel that was soaked by the rain.
...

When the time comes there is nothing to do.
Lost in confusion frustration and all that is mixed with anger too.
But anger with no direction just lingers and hangs.
Poisoning the mind and the body like a rattlesnake with foot long fangs.
...

Imitation is suicide.
May I take you on a little bit of a rough ride?
Can I question your judgment for just one moment?
The clothes, jewelry, multiple women, and cars, why do you want it?

Never Forget To Remember

When the question is asked ' who do you do it for' your name will be mentioned.
When they look at me sideways I will ignore the tension.
I will embrace the happiness as memories come into my head.
From racing go-karts around community cash until the times we jumped in the bed.
When your young life is much easier to understand.
Over looking the small details that made me who i am.
But every now and then I need to go back and re-cap a couple of things.
Edd being gone, mama working hard when I think of it the pain stings.
But if the necessary steps were taken to get me here.
Then i would never take those sleepless nights back when the main noise you heard was daddy cracking open a fresh beer.
So when things get bad always remember better days will come.
It reminds me of when Ninne and great grandma Lelia would sit back and hum.
Moments like that in a lifetime will never be forgotten.
About just about as memorable as when the black folks use to pick cotton.
