T J Morgan Poems

There's not enough time in this lifetime for us
no time for talk
no time for sleep
The need inside me is an ache
...

I see the road, out there in front
twisting and snaking out of sight
I hear the distant footsteps, smell spring on the air
meandering forward, friends join with me
...

There was a family that lived down the road from us
Seven kids and two scruffy mongrels
We looked down our noses at them and talked about them a lot
Their front yard was littered with rubbish and scrap cars
...

Who are we? in this world, so complex
What gives us the right?
To presume, to judge, to destroy
Who made you King?
...

Have you ever wondered why you get born as you?
Why this body, this country, this era?
Does anyone else have the same questions I do?
And who gets to decide?
...

You were the hardest one to fool
you knew me inside out
knew my innermost thoughts, hopes, desires
it took some planning
...

7.

She lays there, forehead damp,
chestnut hair fanned out,
cheeks flushed,
content smile playing on her lips,
...

Its abode was the linen cupboard, in the corner of our room
A lesser known creature, nocturnal and vile
...

Slowly and without trace
You imprinted yourself upon my senses
left me reeling
coiling around me, choking out apathy
...

When will you arrive?
waiting, not sure for what, or for whom
an absence felt, a yearning known
just knowing
...

Sittin' here, smilin'
thinkin', whilin'
away time
before I get dialin'
...

Was a tawny autumn afternoon,
sun dappling through the red and gold marquee.
Fading warmth of summer past,
and the smell of cosy evenings on the breeze.
...

With our words we bridge the miles
are drawn together
to share the smiles
as we explore this new addiction we've found
...

Sharp darkness, enshrouds,
slashes,
nerve endings tearing.
...

Something stirs my memory
I pause, look deep into your eye...
No! ! Surely it cannot be! !
'This is so weird! ' I sigh.
...

When we were young
simple things,
an unexpected trip to the fair
Grandparents visiting..what did you bring us?
...

I have someone else sharing my physical
she knows it, and I know it
We circle each other, warily
wrestling for control
...

watching as they run defiantly across the plains
plumes of breath heralding their arrival
the earth pounding with the song of their hooves
necks arched proudly and tails flying wildly
...

19.

My thoughts turn to you tonight
as I lie in this sleepless void
Harvest moon mocking me through the glass
Longing chokes my heart
...

What a void you've left in my life
do you know how much you're missed?
how many people you affected throughout your life?
I look at your picture every day, it still hurts
...

The Best Poem Of T J Morgan

Insatiable...(For You)

There's not enough time in this lifetime for us
no time for talk
no time for sleep
The need inside me is an ache
Knowing the limitations life puts in our way
makes me break
jagged and raw, why isn't it simple?

Every moment treasured, and revisited
Rosy days overcome the grey ones
but still this ache, gnawing at my heart
it's not enough, you make me want more
How did you do this?
Weaving yourself into my being
Well, welcome, consider yourself home.
