Terminology

Isn't it ludicrous
all the words we don't use in this,
prodigious world of ours?

All the spoonerisms and other things
yet very few know their means.
Something as asinine as, The farts if fleas.
Originally meant to be, The cart of beans.
And you exclaim, 'What a mondegreen! '
But people just look at you funny.

Trying to class things up a bit
you say resplendent instead of lit
or feces instead of -
'But that's for losers! ' They interrupt.
Which makes you want to erupt.

A loser.
Like a down-and-outter?
A dud? A deadbeat? A flop?
All this use of inchoate vocab must come to a stop!

I refuse to take part in this absurd use of language
for I am brighter, more brilliant, more brisk that that,
and I am not timorous to take a risk like that!
