Jenny Barton Poems

Loyal, strong and brave too,
Soldiers who fought for me and you
Some were boys, scared and alone,
Those were the days when they
...

Some boys so young went to war,
They fought so hard, their goal not to draw.
They lost their lives in far away places
loved ones will forever remember their faces
...

First Christmas without you dad,
The family is still so sad,
Still loved and in our hearts you remain
Life has just not been the same
...

They say it's a special time of year, but so sad and blue for everyday people too.
People just rush by, stressed, indifferent too,
The commercial rat race Making us buy.... or face the disgrace! !
How I wish for The old days where simple things matter, like just being there, a friend or two who care.
...

It's the middle of the night, my thoughts turn to you, always you
Sad and alone, this empty house no longer a home,
Memories shared are strong, powerful in my mind
Yet no comfort is took,
...

Why do we worry about little things, it's true
Whether people like or cannot accept you?
Why worry about people talking behind your back? When time is at an end will
You even think about that?
...

I wish I had five more minutes Dad to tell you how I care.
The little things you did for me, I was always quite aware.

A taxi here, a taxi there,
...

How can you get over a life once shared? knowing you were loved and the other one so cared.
The little things he did, have been missed as times goes by, the feelings of love grow., The feelings of fear are clear.

Because how can you forget 40 years of sharing? Oh for what I would give for just one day back of caring.
...

From April showers to summer, s sun
Nobody knows when it is the last one
From autums fall to winters rain
No one knows if you, ll see them again.
...

A family United by by mere tragedy
So quick and unexpected, confused our we, our hearts are torn, withered in pain
Our loss can only be heavens gain.
...

Don't tell me what I should be feeling,
5 stages of grieving
It is my mind, my heart, and I'm the one screaming!
...

How lucky I am to have a best friend,
Someone I trust, who I can depend,
Life so simple, carefree and true
Comfortable together are me and you.
...

The Best Poem Of Jenny Barton

Never To Be Forgotten

Loyal, strong and brave too,
Soldiers who fought for me and you
Some were boys, scared and alone,
Those were the days when they
Couldn't phone home
They were so strong, yet frightened it's true
Fighting for us, so we can live like we do
Thank you lads and lasses too,
Our country survived because of you.

I have read your poem 'Best Friend' with interest and find it adorable. What makes it remarkable is the fact that it is devoted to a wonderful mother. Would like to read more of your poems. Thanks.

(I'm no poet, I haven't any qualifications, I'm just so so sad but writing is helping, please don't judge my grammar as the words are coming from the heart) ______________________________________ Dear Jenny, your write shows that poetry lives inside us, even when we doubt of that.. Thank you for sharing! And keep on writing Blessings
