Along the 'Mighty Mo',
Head waters from Hell roaring creek
Commissioned, Lewis and Clark did go.
What sights to see?
...

Of all the flowers in the world
I chose the daisy to be unfurled.
It stands tall and proud among
The different fauna of its furlong.
...

We work so hard to get it right,
Hours of useful playtime wasted.
For this time has been hasted
In hopes of building up our might.

Missouri

Along the 'Mighty Mo',
Head waters from Hell roaring creek
Commissioned, Lewis and Clark did go.
What sights to see?
In search of natural resources;
A journey of official discourses.
Missouri, Missouri.

Among men she stood proud,
With York, slave man of Clark;
Cast their votes, with voices loud.
(A thought 'history is belated'.)
Honorable Shoshone of birth,
Reunited through mother earth,
Along the Missouri.

Sacagawea they called her,
Prisoner of war,
Exchanged with Trader of fur
By Red Skin not of her own.
Through resilience and exonerated hate,
Embraces her brother, Chief Cameahwait.
Missouri, Missouri.

Their team of great education,
Duties of Jefferson's deem,
Were intuitive in their classification
Upon Wonders they came.
Known today as Cascade County,
Housing the Missouri's visual bounty.
'Missouri, Missouri.'

Often called the 'Big Muddy',
Once abundant with paddlefish.
Magnificent in nature study,
With encounters of the unknown.
Through country of Grizzly Bear
That gave quite a warranted scare: -
Missouri, Missouri.

Music heard in the distance,
To the explorer's heart,
Came upon through persistence:
What beckons the ear?
Encompassing, Great Falls insist;
Strong in mind, unable to resist.
Missouri, Missouri.

With calm waters in shortage,
Unable to navigate the stretch
With newborn Pomp, difficult portage.
Indians preserved from lithic stage,
Destined to change from this day,
As we force nature to give way
A resonance of Missouri,
The Mighty Missouri.
