I am angry for all the….

lies I’ve been told
promises that were never kept
investment I’ve put into our relationship
time wasted when I should have been living my life
countless hours of giving myself
tears i’ve shed over you
times spent picking you back up to watch you repeat the same thing over again
days I let depression affect me because of you
times I ignored my family to be with you
men I gave up relationships with to spend more time with you
late nights spent crying over you
arguments with my family over you
days upon days of trying to calm your sorrows
years listening to you speak of other women like I’m not here
events I missed to stay home with you
lies I told myself
songs that you sent me about love
words professing your love
poems that spoke of love
friends I told about you and me
hundreds of hours spent on the phone with you
times I allowed you to punish me for something I did wrong
holidays spent wondering why I was being punished
games that were played
hope I was given
times I spent believing there was something more that could happen
I am angry for all the years spent believing you loved me like I love you
