“Where I’m From” Poem
I’m from a house of computers, from desktops to laptops. I’m from tan colored siding (which comes to an end by the red bricks at the bottom of the house) . I’m from the blossoms which bloom from the pear tree (which has branches that spring from its trunk) . I’m from Christmas movie watching and blue eyes from Jennifer and Michael.
The Gift of Life
When you started out You were weak and no one had hope Everyone had no faith But you didn’t give up nope
Violence is not the answer Yet the answer cannot be found A bully strikes their fist And words into the victim
The world around you changes but you are standing still. No one sees you; you are invisible, but still there. If no one knows your there does it mean you’re gone?
Love is a way to have hope and when it's over it breaks you apart, leaving you with nothing. We like love but love hates us
Love is weird in this world. It’s hope and happiness when you have it, but heart breaking when it ends. You cling to it in hope that it will last. Love lasts only for people that don’t expect to have it.
What in the World
Standing tall and strong, never to bend by the strength of the wind Always proud and at attention in front of their superior Gifted with blankets of white that they wear year long Never the focus always the background, a challenge is all man sees
Anger boiled inside and kept in check. More is added over the years from hurtful friends, broken hearts, and things that cannot be controlled. Pressure builds and threatens to demolish but control wins out and anger is set to simmer.
