Joe Graves Poems

There is a lie
a lie that lives
that has been fed and guided into its own life
it has blood and viens
...

our friend the killer
the black sheep of the family, but indeed family.
we need the killer, but hate his face
he is nesacary, but we will not acknowledge him.
...

it is alive in all that lives
it is alive in all that has never lived.
It is alive in all that is.
it is in no One place

Joe Graves Biography

Joe Graves is a 32 year old New Orleans native. He was born into the world as a visual artist who has since developed his creativity through expanding his outlet from visual arts as a foundation, to music, poetry, and any other form of medium or experience that allows him to channel the transferable knowledge of creativity from one subject to another. He believes that expressing creativity leads to the learning and understanding of basic fundamental design laws that apply not only to the traditional artists' craft, but to all forms of human expression. Once these 'laws' are grasped, the whole world becomes a canvas, and beauty can be found from the smallest atom all the way to the greatest expanse of our universe. He believes that no matter what it is that you are looking for in life, you will find it, so it is important to know what you are looking for and to make sure that it is good.)

The Lie

There is a lie
a lie that lives
that has been fed and guided into its own life
it has blood and viens
it is a lie not by action
but by inaction
through indifference
it is fed upon but is empty as a rotton corpse or brown grass
we are shaped and guided and told what is real
from our beginings to our last day we speak to the lie
it holds us with an invisible leash
and we embrace the leash
we love the lie
we will kill for it
or be killed
we will love for it or not be loved
we will believe or not be believed in
bleed or be bled, feed but not be fed
told that it is the only way and there is no other
made to believe as if natural
to defy logic and defend blindly
a force that cannot be seen wthout human prescence
born into
but why?
for whom?
the invisible.
invisible but everywhere at once. omnipresence of imagination and action.
force of hand. force of mind.
prisoners of guilt. made to walk a line.
not to be questioned. No room for doubt.
and death to the soul of those who find out.
It is a lie, that must be told
to keep all of humanity from being so cold.
mental chains and physical boundaries
a counterfiet existence that must be lived to maintain order.
the only way.
the only light.
the only Lie.
