Joel Smith Poems

Do what your told
respect your elders
be seen an not heard
say and do whatever you like
...

Excuse my empty head
I awoke in eighty-one and found myself dead
I'm gonna talk
I'm gonna play
...

I know myself
I know my sin
whatever never happened
happened again
...

On the day before the rivals
took the court an pushed their vitals
i was alone
i was home
...

I arrived down at the scepter
where the tombs were on display
glass cases cant be broken
...

Lets all think positive and be decieved
optimism blinds the naive

I am beyond salvation
...

I rock soft so as not to offend thee
mainstream palatable
radio friendly
mindless human on the lose
...

I say nothing in many ways
angry for all of my days
typical in all i do
i dont have a mind
...

In a dream
I saw all of existence on an altar
being sacrificed by big egos
and those who lust for power
...

Its clear to me now
that nothing is set in stone
the man among the many
the one thats all alone
...

Sneaking 'round a summer dream
I dont know now just what it means
but i know that i want it to
...

The Best Poem Of Joel Smith

Existence

Do what your told
respect your elders
be seen an not heard
say and do whatever you like
as long as we approve
its called truth
like power in the hands of the corrupt

Your young sew your oats
settle down, find a wife
have a child
abandon independence
compromise
its called maturity
like all natural male enhancement

The house with the white picket fence
the dog, the two children
the American flag overhead
its called Paradise
like a world without imagination

40 hours a week,52 weeks a year
50 years
better save up, better get as much as you can
its called life
like a slave with no hope of escape
