When One From A Family Is Taken

When one from a family is taken
those that are left gather round
and, though their spirits are shaken,
somehow they're more closely bound

But when the family was two
and now is suddenly one,
how can one face life anew
how can life possibly go on

But, to some in hypocritical way,
one turns to the solace of prayer
and finds in the darkness a ray
showing there's somebody there

One who is always at hand
to reach out and tell you he cares
and to tell of a beautiful land
which all of us one day will share

Then, somehow, one again needs to pray
but this time the words come quite free,
and with confidence now face the day,
for with Jesus our loved ones will be.
