John Powell Poems

1.

My heart is an ocean
You came to swim in it
Traversed its depths
Made it your own
...

Don’t you see
I only want your approval
I claw and scratch
Peel myself away
...

You are with me in a mirror
I am never without you
When I sit alone in my bed
I can feel your soft carress
...

lost and wandering
searching for the way
your face appears but gone
there for me and back to you
...

Driving slowly
Day is hot
Sweat dripping
eyes scanning
...

The Best Poem Of John Powell

Ocean

My heart is an ocean
You came to swim in it
Traversed its depths
Made it your own
What was empty before
Now full with you
Then you went back to land
Left it wanting
My tides reach for you
Only so far then retreat
Was I not deep enough
Not challenging enough
You were expert
Come and gone
Never here
My heart is an ocean
And you have drained it
