John Siregar Poems

Never shall I forget
And neither shall I forget thee
The naked streets of Amsterdam by night
...

I fall in love with my
beautiful winter in Delft
It's myself
I was there in winter of Delft
...

To touch the beauty of the Lord
Far beyond my rich and soul
My lonely soul
Here I'm Lord! Hear me!
...

To the edge of the world I journeyed
To see more, to talk to the untouchable
If they had their morning food sent,
and a cup of coffee or tea.
...

Why Kings locked their doors
To my coming
To my poems to read
To my soul to listen
...

Somewhere In The Streets Of Amsterdam

Never shall I forget
And neither shall I forget thee
The naked streets of Amsterdam by night

Calm down my soul
In Schiphol I shall pick you up
You said many times long ago
It was a memory that never shall perish
The journey to Europe that opened my eyes
Tulpen out Amsterdam
And my confused ears to the classic with Yehuda Menuin
in the concert hall of Amsterdam.

The trees were all dead in here, as I admired the nature,
and the four seasons by Vivaldi.

Come down, but astonished, I whispered to my own soul
Starring at the dead trees along the streets of Amsterdam.
I was confused, where was I? , along the corridor of the streets of Amsterdam?

Was it me? as like orang utan from the heavy jungle of Sumatra, arrived first in Amsterdam with extremely cold winter

Holding a bunch tulips?
Confused, like lost in the streets of Amsterdam
Freezing and cold as it was winter, and i had to learn to use the spoon, fork and knife.
To learn to drink some red wine, not to get drunk.

It has never been forgotten
And never shall be
The beauty of naked streets of Amsterdam by night
The beauty of a friendship shall forever live

As we shall meet someday
Somewhere in the streets of Amsterdam
