John W. McEwers
Biography of John W. McEwers
I have two kids, and I spent a summer in England. I love the outdoors. Poetry isn't my life, it is my oxygen. My favorite author is Tom Clancy. A close second would be Virginia Woolf. I'm trying to get better, and would like to collect my poems into a collection for publication. Any comments would be great! ! ! R.I.P. Robert
Addendum: I've learned to enjoy the indoors too.

John W. McEwers Poems
Mammals lay no eggs outside of their bodies because they lay them inside of their bodies. Marsupials carry babies around in sacks like babies are groceries from the corner carry-out. Fish passively lay eggs in giant areas so that just about anything that wants to can attempt to germinate. Birds make nests.

So it goes like this, Guy meets girl. Guy buys flowers. Girl puts them in a vase.
First Love Story At The Movies
I can still picture the old theater's gold marquee thrusting over the sidewalk, a brittle matinee ticket, and in a dim enough room-smell the seats, the satiny wash of crushed chocolate and sweat,
Her Eyes Shine Like Diamonds
If diamonds could talk they would say her name when we meet for coffee on a blind date
If there was one thing just one that I would like to be it would be nice
Pauses I Make At The Grocery Store
My heart tracks time at odd intervals Like I remember it was eleven bread loaves ago that I noticed this woman so sweet. Six packs of ham since my heart skipped a beat,
A little less shaking she said, and a little more making love.
If You Loved Me, You Would.
The Sunshine In Winter
There is none.
I live in the noth
-ingness of the holes
Of my teeth.
They are floating, my teeth
And when will the sun shine rise again?
I fear never.
Never, I fear.
