Jon M. Nelson Poems

Always follow your dreams,
Don't let them fade away.
If you lose sight of your goal,
It will haunt you some day.
...

The rose stands for the family with faith and love for those who serve,
They're held with the highest respect for that's what they deserve.

A yellow ribbon is for the loyalty waiting for those serving abroad,
...

It's a day that most people don't recall,
But so many Americans had taken a fall.
So many lives were taken on that day,
And very few survivors are now gray.
...

When violence is committed against another soul,
The aftermath is always going to take its toll.
Most people too often will turn their backs,
And do nothing to try to stop these attacks.
...

They say Curiosity killed the cat,
Well there is a story behind that.
It's not the reason that you may think,
When you hear it, your heart will sink.
...

A little mouse would run all around,
Searching for food that was on the ground.
...

I'm tired of having to slam on the brakes,
Because of other drivers' mistakes.
And a turn signal? Don't even ask.
For them, that's too much of a task.
...

When you have the chance, lend a hand.
Don’t be afraid to try to take a stand.
Pay it forward, expect nothing back.
Compassion is something we all lack.
...

When you're told you can't go on,
Or that you don't have what it takes.
Give it your all to prove them wrong,
And that they have made a mistake.
...

Our love is like the wind,
I can’t see it but I know it’s there.
Our love is like the wind,
It’s always like a breath of fresh air.
...

I hope that when I leave here,
It won’t be without a trace.
Hopefully at some point in life,
I put a smile upon your face.
...

We're all unique and different,
That's what makes us who we are.
We all have a talent or gift,
That will some day take us far.
...

My parent is proudly serving our country,
In order to keep so many of us free.
There are a lot of sacrifices that they’re making,
And I know the risks that they’re taking.
...

I've watched you grow from a child,
Into the adult that you are today.
You used to be so reckless and wild,
And you have come such a long way.
...

My love is still just as strong for you,
As it was on the day that we said “I Do”.
And my love for you continues to grow,
And I try every day to let you know.
...

The soldier gives the right to bear arms,
By carrying a weapon of his own in War.
The soldier keeps us all safe from harm,
By defending us on a foreign shore.
...

When you look upon a tombstone,
Two numbers seem to stand alone.
The year upon this earth they arrived,
And the second was when they died.
...

Lightning never strikes the same place twice,
So never pass up a chance worth taking.
Try risking your hand and roll the dice,
It just may be history on the making.
...

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the camp,
The soldiers had changed out of clothes that were damp.
Our weapons were slung and held at the ready,
Although it was Christmas we still stood rock steady.
...

As I follow in his footsteps, I know he’ll lead the way.
I get closer to heaven with every passing day.
I’m on the path of righteousness, leading toward the Lord.
Praying and listening as He speaks his mighty word.

Jon M. Nelson Biography

Jon M. Nelson was born and raised in Minnesota for the majority of his life until he joined the Army at 20 years old. Since then he has called many places home and has traveled the world on several occasions, and is still proudly serving today. In his spare time, when he's not busy as a soldier, he shares his deepest and personal thoughts in the form of poetry. He has written many poems to honor his brothers and sisters in arms, but he has written so much more than that. Whether it's a love poem for his wife, a spiritual salute to God, a praise to children and family, or even an inspiring tale to uplift humanity, Jon's poetry touches on so many subjects that can be read and shared by so many audiences, even if they've never been a fan of poetry. Jon hopes that his writing will in some way make an impact on the world, and make it a better place, even if it can just change or inspire one person. http: //jonmnelson.com/)

The Best Poem Of Jon M. Nelson

Always Follow Your Dreams

Always follow your dreams,
Don't let them fade away.
If you lose sight of your goal,
It will haunt you some day.

Always follow your dreams,
As you shoot for the stars.
Nothing will be out of reach,
If you're willing to go far.

Always follow your dreams,
You just have to believe.
No one can ever stop you,
If you're willing to achieve.

Always follow your dreams,
No matter how silly they appear.
When others push them away,
Just pull your dreams near.
