petals of gold, emerald leaves,

Dear Suffering,
I see what you did there. I really learned a lot from it. 'Obedience is better than sacrifice, ' so the prophet wrote. I'm not bitter... well maybe a little. This would be a lot easier if you would give me a little heads up. How about some ample notice next time? Maybe you are familiar with the Golden Rule, "Do unto others…" or some jazz? It's all right, though. You do you!

In honor of Jehovah Rapha,
Source of all life who forms
Hands to forge my words
A page for the mortar
And a pen for the pestle
Grasping with a fervent fear
Vigorously crush and blend
Seeds break open potent
Scents inhaled never before
I offer Him the fragrance
Yet nothing can compare to
The One crushed and poured
Out on me, and on you
Restoring us again and again
Pour it out on the world
Over incurable sorrows
Making all things new. Amen
