My Message

I thank God for the gift He has given me,
It’s that gift of friendship, you see.
Giving me strength to face each day,
Feeling the love that nothing could pay

For if it weren’t for you I wouldn’t feel,
This peace in my soul; so calm, so still.
You laughed with me and dried up my tears,
Though we haven’t known each other for many years

I now want to be the best friend I can be
To all of you who made me see
The sunshine of my darkest nights
Always trying to make me feel alright

A day would come when I would go
And I want you all to always know
That wherever in this world you and I may be
You’ll be planted in my heart just like a tree

And so with a grateful heart
Though someday we may be far apart
I want to say my thanks to you
For you have given my life a splash of hue

And then I realized that God knows I need you all
To be able to catch me whenever I fall
And the other reason He gave me you
Is that so I could be your friend too
