The Road I Knew..Pt 1

Track it down, trek trek head on.
The track my feet were comfortable with.
Didn't have to take notice of the pebbles,
The bends and the pitches or ever stopped
To stare down the way that i traded on.
I mean my feet were practically kin to
The ground up to that moment,
yeah i can say that they had a connection
and honestly really didn't need my entire
Self to take a trail on that road. I know this road.

something is wrong today, i sure can 'hear' it
For a reason the steppers call on the rest of me
'You sure want to pay a little more attention today'
My feet seem to call out, i know i heard that.
'there is a ditch there i know' i tell me
Annnnnnddd.........straight down i head.
Face flat on the tarmac. ouuucch
Okay what...that smells freshly placed
And yeah newly placed tar it was.
What the....its been fixed this road.
Pushed back against my knees sat still.
When did this happen

I finally gather me and decide
Am just gonna head on straight
Its not that different
I mean am just gonna.......
And trip i did, headed back down
Like i was in pursuit of the earth.
there was a ditch here at least i remembered
as i made that involuntary lip that
sent me straight down....
