10 Things I Hate About Us

I hate that we never talk,
I just get so nervous when inside you walk.
Your eyes are pure like darkest nights;
I look to you and into them,
and smile, feeling alright.
I hate that we can't see each other all that often
I hope one day these strongly guarded walls will soften.
I hate that I thought you'd open my soul.
I hate that I never made you whole.
I hate that I was meant to be your soulmate,
but just opened the gate,
to Hell on Earth.
Despair, destruction, depression
Crashing down upon you,
entirely down to me.
How is it that we never got that far?
I wanted you to hold my heart,
hold it tight.
Hold it tight and never let go.
I hate you so.
Who am I kidding?
I love you so.
We used to be so close,
but now I'm just closed.
