Kalyani Sreekumar

Kalyani Sreekumar Poems

When I tried to make sense of my surroundings

Fruit flies dashed at me out of the blue.
...

Grains pounding my roof

My goats bleating in naivete.
...

There were four eyes in all

peering into the dark.

As The Evening Drew To A Close

When I tried to make sense of my surroundings

Fruit flies dashed at me out of the blue.

A leopard was steadily climbing down a wall

And someone was oiling her mane

As if she had all the time in the world.

A fire had been lit right next to me

But the smoke billowed elsewhere.

Beyond the smoke was a tea shop

Where the leopard had just been

Split among the customers.
