slowly over majestic hills

A View From The East

An eerie ice creeps
slowly over majestic hills
sneaking down on an unsuspecting valley
the winds sweep over barren soils
dust dances in circles
clearing the surface in preparation
the sun is strangled from existence
clouds turn the sky black
a primeval scream goes up
as cotton falls like feathers
to blanket God's creation
