Katherine Knight Poems

Summer days are here at last,
Days of school are in the past,
Summer skies will turn to grey,
And summer's warmth will fade away,
...

A thousand crystals on the ground,
In the midnight air there's hardly a sound,
The crunching of snow under my feet,
And the faint little sound of my heartbeat,
...

Dreams are broken,
Dreams come true,
Old, repeated,
Strange and new,
...

The moon is lit,
But dark is the night,
My footsteps are quiet,
And my breath is light,
...

I walk along a broken path,
With many trails that lead off that,
...

Rain falling down,
As we drove into town,
It's the only sound,
And there's leaves on the ground,
...

Standing in the street,
In the middle of the night,
Rain coming down,
With sudden flashes of light,
...

From the darkness cries a bleeding Soul,
The razor that cuts it is now dull,
The Soul has struggled its whole life,
Pain, misery, never ending strife,
...

I sit in a place,
Where there's almost no light,
I get through every day,
Even though they scream and fight,
...

Mommy, Daddy, What's going on?
Where are you going, Daddy, tell me what's wrong,
Why are your bags packed?
Why does Mommy cry?
...

Katherine Knight Biography

I've been in a military family up until four years ago when my parents got divorced. I've lived up and down the East coast my entire life. I've never lived more than an hour from the beach. I've been writing poetry for as long as I can remember, but I think I started in third grade. I wrote my first poem and showed it to my mom. She asked my where I got the poem, thinking I had copied it from a book, so I'm guessing it was good? Even though I love poetry, I love writing stories more. I'm working on my first book, Valley in the Midnight Sun, and you can find a 'preview' of it at www.ValleyintheMidnightSun.weebly.com I just turned sixteen on August 1st, and I'm going into my junior year of highschool in less than two weeks. I'm starting at my eleventh school: D fun... note the sarcasm. Well, I've dragged this out long enough so....... the end: D)

Changing Seasons

Summer days are here at last,
Days of school are in the past,
Summer skies will turn to grey,
And summer's warmth will fade away,
Autumn comes and leaves fall down,
Winter comes, snow covers the ground,
Spring comes and brings new life,
And ends all of the winter's strife,
All the seasons come and go,
From the summer's heat to the winter's snow...
