Or must he manipulate himself into thinking he’s had an honest good day?
Must he lie to himself once more to feel accomplished?
Or does he feel that his routine life has become mundane and worthless?

A lonely man wonders through the woods tonight
Snowflakes angrily brazing his uncovered face
He shows no expression of care for this as he walks along
He knows not where he is going

A woman so loving
A man so lonely
Met together in passionate harmony
...

I sit alone tonight
Under this star filled sky
I suppress the want to cry
With one more elusive lie

You hurt me so
When all along you knew there was no place it could go
Unblemished by chance
You continue to dance

I stand on this ever changing beach
Looking out into the shifting waters of emotion
Time is measured by grains of sand
Slowly eroding into the hands of its captor, the past
