Mother's Love

To see your child in pain
Is a terrible thing to bare
Wishing with all of your heart
You can mend the hurtful tear

A mother is first to know
There is pain in doing what is right
She tries not to hear the hurtful words
And she cries alone at night

She holds a tiny bird
It pleads to be set free
But mommy knows it needs care
Compromise and trust are key

One day her bird will soar
The time of raising is done
The proof is in her children
Will the game of life be won?

She prays for health, wealth and happiness
She holds them in her heart
She lets them face the harsh world
Mother always, then friendship starts
