Kelsey Clark Poems

A dry tear runs down my cheek
To be seen my no one. You see,
They are all watching, like dumb-founded sheep
Some snickering and some listening, not making a peep.
...

Heaven is not so far as it seems,
Though clouded by life's storms and heavy fog.
In their deceit they condense themselves around time
Leaving us separated from the majestic reality of the universe,
...

Today I saw a Lady in Black.
She wore dish rags on her head,
wrung out to dry and left to rot in the city streets,
and metal chains that kept her captive in this
...

Both Joy and Pain are joining me this evening.
They are not accustomed to being together,
not to mention their natural displeasure
for the other’s faulty reasoning.

Message To Believers

A dry tear runs down my cheek
To be seen my no one. You see,
They are all watching, like dumb-founded sheep
Some snickering and some listening, not making a peep.

This is what makes my cry.
He stands on a great pedestal, high
Above the crowd his wild hands fly.
Slapping God's face side to side.

He says he is holy
He says he is pure,
But it's the way that he says it that makes me unsure.
For I've seen some touched
I've seen many healed
And they do not boast, their lips are sealed.

Some find it annoying; others become mad.
But to me the man's message is nothing but sad.
He speaks of harm and condemnation to be had
For everyone, excluding him, who is evil and bad.

Is this really the gospel? Is it true
That life only depends of the things that we do.
What about the love that makes all things new?
Jesus Christ, the savior of man, that's who
Gave us love so that we could love too.

So as I walk by this sad, angry man,
I can't help but picture a sword in his hand.
Not one that searches or pierces the heart,
But one that cuts God and his love apart.
How should we spread the news? What method? What art?

To this I must answer not with advice but request,
Consider your actions, you worst and your best,
Despite some shortcomings, you'd say you are blessed.
This blessing came from somewhere, but who? Can you guess?

They came from the Father who loves you dearly,
So why should you preach things that make others weary?
The joy that He gives wipes away all tears. See,
His love conquers all, our pain and our fears.

If you preach this message of love,
The type that is eternal, flowing from above.
If you share the work that has been done in you,
Then God will surely change other's hearts too.
