Joy Is Her Herald

Joy is her herald.
As she passes the threshold,
the trumpets blare.
A blast of warmth banishes the cold,
and her smile lays my soul bare.
As my eyes fall upon her,
a parabola spreads across my face
The ecstasy grows exponentially,
starting slow, but swiftly shooting into space.
There, surrounded by countless other stars,
only one shines brightest of all.
Passion burns a brighter red than that of Mars,
a fire fed by the subliminal,
none other than the one who stands quiet,
who does not think she is worthy of being watched
and yet, I must restrain myself with all my might
not to stare, eyes like magnets.
When they meet on the wrong occasion,
they quickly look another way
a moment of repulsion caused by fascination,
but on her face, I wish they would stay.
For this to feeling to remain would be a dream,
but its grounding is slowly giving way.
If there is no progress forward, it would seem
that it would slip and slide down to the beginning.
Straight down to hell,
with no chance of ever regaining ground again,
A prisoner imprisoned in a cell,
straining for a happiness he can only imagine.
Here the poets sits,
thinking over each word
but now is not the time to silent.
He must be take action, and be bold.
Passion and feeling must blown off the page,
with a might and fury to rival her own herald.
He needs to grab the spotlight, and take center stage,
and proclaim what he knows.
