Kevin L. Parks Poems

Affirmative action
Boy what a caption
Rooted in pain
We still have no gain
...

If I ever start to falter
From what life has to offer
With my head caught in a halter
Leading me down from the altar
...

After hearing you ill
Our emotions did fill
From your arduous hill
With its ominous will

Affirmative Action

Affirmative action
Boy what a caption
Rooted in pain
We still have no gain
Now we'll sit lame
With no one to blame
It is truly a shame
That we need such a cane
For now we will struggle
Without a good juggle
If we would wake
There would be such a quake
For then we would make
And not have to take
We'd stand on our own
Without there a moan
We'd need not the fraction
Affirmative action
We'd have the traction
And not the reaction
Wake I say
And start a new day
Dare not to lay
Dare not to fray
But continue to pray
And shine like the ray
From whence cometh your pay
