Doubts

Am I to hear
the echo
whenever I call,
forget the thought
and run?
If somebody
would only come,
it was said,
come to look
through the window
there!
Am I to call
constantly
when the light
is out
and the wind comes
from far away?
The shadow squats
in the corner
and sadness runs
ahead of us
to pluck the fruit.
