It's quiet in your house right now
Everyone is asleep
The hum of the fans is soothing
Then there's the shuffle of your feet

I can't sleep
It's late, or early
And so dark outside
It's hard to close my eyes

Bits and pieces of things
Will always be left behind
Like shrapnel in our hearts
Hoping no one will find

I can't stop myself
From holding on so long
I can't make myself
Forget everything and move on

Another word
As long as I shall live
