Larisa Marie Davis Poems

best friend,
you've always been
better than boys, more loyal than men.
can't get over,
...

you think back on that other girl,
you know, the one you made your world.
im not Her.
she caused you pain,
...

remember me.
when you think of times that made you smile.
wish for me.
when you need someone to go that extra mile.
...

relationship,
relation-skip to the next part
oh, babe, you're breaking my heart
with all the kind words
...

i don't want to think about you
so don't drift enticingly into my thoughts...
i don't want to hear you
so don't call out to me in the darkness
...

I know Im not worthy
not flirty
not your type
I know Im not pristine
...

I exist only to know you
to breathe you
to witness your life
...

why is it,
every remark,
sarcastic at heart,
brings tears to my eyes,
...

and how could i do something with him,
i could say it was the shots i did
it wasnt planned, on whim,
and now the memories play like
...

im not good at goodbyes,
and i dont know whats so good about them.

dont make me say it,
...

11.

Heat
of two bodies
pressing to make one
hearts
...

Mistakes are only supposed to be made one time.
and i'm pretty sure you're supposed to learn from them.

then how is it
...

Things dont go so well
for me.
life resembles living hell
for me.
...

the last time i argue
and the last time we fight
we're having it out
it ends tonight
...

I'd pray for tomorrow,
if I thought that it'd be better
I'd wish for yesterday,
if I thought that it could measure
...

If Misery loves company
then Baby throw me a party!
because i wanna be surrounded by the millions.
all the ones who've caused the grief
...

two hearts, one soul,
rip apart, left unwhole
cant breathe, wont sleep,

He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named

best friend,
you've always been
better than boys, more loyal than men.
can't get over,
what you say.
i won't believe it,
not today.

you show messages,
where you've written
down the story of your life.
i come to realize that in the end,
you probably won't be taking a wife.

i can't imagine how you feel,
i cry and think it can't be real.
please tell me that i'm mistaken,
i need your voice for calm, i'm shaking.
i want you back the way you were.
i'll accept you no matter how you are,
just show me that you've not gone far.

i love you now and always will,
you're like a drug, and i've swallowed the pill...
i can't get over everything,
i still want you more than anything.

and you don't like my kind anymore,
i can't let this come to an end
the best thing i can be,
is best friend.
