Best Poem of Larry Hussey

My Alcohol-Abusing Dad Said 'I Love You.'

After thinking about it,
my dad said 'I love you.'
In my mind, the words formed
red and white wine-colored icicles
down his chin.
The voicemail was made at around one a.m.
so it must have been a new year's resolution
that he wanted to check off right away
so he could show everybody.

On The Rebound

When love's been busted
your heart can't be trusted

You fall in love one day
and out of love the next.

Then repeat the process over
because you're a Rebounder.
