The Journey Untold

Here we are
living as kings and peasants
striving to rule and be unruled
Great are the rulers and the ruled not of equal
Our status are like strangers yet bounded by this journey,
this journey that remains untold.

Living is an ironical blessing
for there aint no permanent abode.
Though I would love to live but I must travel
If the kings can set sail to travel
then who are we?

Though we own no boat but we shall travel
This trip expensive but cost no penny
We leave upon the call of the sea,
the frightening call that takes us off guard

I have seen many kings travel
I have seen peasants answer this call of the sea
I have seen ships sail away with kings and peasants alike
There shall come a time I receive this call
When the time comes, wonder who lives to bid me farewell
This journey remains untold,
for neither a king nor a peasant ever makes it back
