Leon Crooks Poems

“I want to be love, ” said her eyes when I lay mine's upon them.
But this conception of love is a bit short coming, the full story I will share
with you.
When I think about love I think about time.
...

I have been waiting, I have been waiting; the man sat on his thoughts.
Have I been dreaming of holding and caressing, reality hit his heart.
Ten years and counting, he has been searching, now he is just a lonely old man.
He is fifty and counting, No more nights crying, the doctor recommend before he departs.

My Love Story

“I want to be love, ” said her eyes when I lay mine's upon them.
But this conception of love is a bit short coming, the full story I will share
with you.
When I think about love I think about time.
The time we spent with each other, holding hands, taking long walks on the beach, sitting on a bench in a secluded park laughing at each other's silliness.
I think of crying together, I think of heaven above.
When I think of Love, I think of you; not lust or vain fantasies, because with you I feel my rib at your side protecting your heart, and for that we are never apart.
Love is patient, love is kind, love is gentle and so divine.
The greatest words to every sprung from my heart flows like a river to sooth my thoughts.
Words that keep us molded, shaped and craft as a master art. I smiled every time I watch the image of you hung from my heart.
We are refined, defined and tested by time, completing as one.
I love you
