I gaze out from my window,
To the dampened streets below,
Deprived of moonlight serenade,
The streetlight casts its glow,

Now all that it took,
Was one longing look,
And a kiss,
So gentle and tender,

It seems that life,
Is but a play,
On broken dreams,
Dreamt day by day,

I close the curtain; shut the light,
For day is day, and night is night,
Sometimes, I turn the table round,
In hope, by daylight, peace is found.

I woke today from fitful sleep,
In dreams, confusion reigns,
Looked from my window to the street,
It was a dismal day.

When love came to call,
It was nothing, but all,
A moment,
Magnificent splendour,

I must say I was glad to see the rain,
That fell and washed the ice and snow away,
Though beautiful it causes me disdain,
I cannot wait until I’m home again,

I’d walk from here to Timbuktu,
