Linda Racaniello Poems

Listening to the symphony of sounds from my cell
I'm at the crossroads between heaven and hell

Remembering back through all of those years
...

My life is so screwed up
bet you wonder why
addiction beats me down
I'm useless to even try
...

Many heroes fall during battle
this fight for freedom often costs
these men and women we send to foreign shores
often it these lives that are lost
...

A broken dollie was left behind
though no one knows the reason why
the house was deserted and old
but one day, the house got sold
...

I tried to follow the straight, the narrow
but I always wander off the path
taking chances I shouldn't take
facing the devils evil wrath
...

These soldiers are courageous and strong
These are the soldiers who fight for right and wrong

This is a place, where soldiers live and die
...

I can't wait to have a child
I've dreamt forever to hold you
my time clock is ticking
and doubts I have a few
...

I tilled the soil in ground so bare
Then planted seeds in a garden square
A place of wonder, a mountain to hold
Both pansies and posies in colors so bold
...

I'm no longer young and carefree,
my body is riddled with pain.
I look down at the ground
at a young reflection in the rain.
...

I once a had friend that I met online
He was addict just like me
We spoke of common things
He made want to fly with unclipped wings
...

I met a women online
Her husband is in Iraq
Her children want him home
Please send him back
...

Out of my window
there is a big wall
it is made of brick
and it's very tall
...

Here's Food For Thought
Ideas for the mind
the answers to questions
you search to find
...

Those crystal like rocks are so pretty
I know I can't stop at just one
I hit that pipe over and over
...

Imagine a carousel
Ornate and gold
Where children delight
And stories unfold
...

Lost the will to live and survive
got caught up in criminal ways
drugs and guns and fugitives
that's how this story plays...
...

Poets in awe
beauty of the sea
swimming the ocean
begging to be free
...

Oxycontin grinded down for a snort
A poor mans heroin of some sort
Snorted for an all time high
As one sees life pass them by
...

Mirror, mirror, tell me why
The reason in which my heart can't comply.
What is it missing; where is it found?
Truth in which my emotions are bound.
...

When I was born, I was alone,
but as I grew, I learned about you.
Growing up wasn't bad, I had plenty of toys,
and in my teen years, I had plenty of boys.

The Crossroads Between Heaven & Hell

Listening to the symphony of sounds from my cell
I'm at the crossroads between heaven and hell

Remembering back through all of those years
the laughter, the pain and so many tears

Skipped through childhood, danced through teens
loved and cried in our twenties; had kids in between

The depression of life had me shivering in fear
wishing I was invisible or could just disappear

No more pretending to be something I'm not,
as I summon the courage that time has forgot

I've gathered my strength; pulled together my rage
put my life down in a book screaming from each page

Skipped through childhood; danced through teens
loved and cried in our twenties, had kids in between

Imagine an elevator traveling through time and fate
Reliving all the memories from both love and hate

Listening to the symphony of the sounds of farewell
I'm at the crossroads between heaven and hell
