old flames die hard
my lighter in my hand
wasted paper on the floor
i can see it all again

I’m looking but I’m losing
If you’ve fought and made it through—
You can do it again
But I can’t do anything

you're so lovely
like an angel fallen
from god's loving grace
you're so needy

i remember you
from what seems like 10 years ago
although it was only a lifetime ago
don't you know
...

We hear these words in our minds
They say what we think we want hear
And you and I are standing
Right in the calm before the storm
...

...Then I’ll say one thing
When I mean another
Like in the sky I won’t be found
I’d prefer to be on the ground
...

The same kind of things that make me wonder why
Are the same ones that make all the sense in the world
My friends think I'm crazy for remembering you
And for keeping the dream alive
