I watched the mist roll along the ground,
It was a cold and moonless night;
I thought I saw you standing there,
I knew that couldn't be right

I've built a storm shelter deep in my mind
For when I feel I must take flight;
I get there quickly, my provisions are few -
Some music, pen and paper to write

I see life's beauty all around me,
No clouds in my sky of blue;
A gentle breeze carries the song of a bird,
But my heart is longing for you
...

Be silent just a moment, my love,
I heard your call.... our hearts are in tune,
Like the moth that can't resist the flame,
I'll come to you.... faithful as the moon
...

You never heard me crying,
Singing my lament to a star;
A song that made the roses weep,
Like a mourning dove's repertoire
...

Now a sudden darkness falls upon me,
Though sudden, I'm not taken by surprise;
Remembering all the alibis you told me,
Remembering how I fell for all your lies;
...

Men strive to appear formidable and strong,
In their castles, they are the lord;
But when a man cries for a woman's love,
These are tears that cannot be ignored
...

I saw a spiderweb laced with dew,
So intricately was it designed,
Like the love you've woven through my life,
Capturing my heart and my mind,
...

The love of nature is my religion,
Give me a sunrise of dazzling light,
I bow my head in admiration,
Once again, the sun conquers the night
...

Who will be there to claim my body
When from this world I must pass?
Whose heaven becomes eternal hell
As I'm laid beneath the grass?
