Anticipation

It's so hard looking
but never touching-
seeing my dream
alive before my eyes,
but not mine for the taking.
i want to feel it all
my anxious fingers never missing a beat
in the fire beneath our skin-
i want to feel the glory i've longed for
and the triumph
when your lips meet mine
we cross the boundaries
and the words we speak
are something more than words
and fantasies.
so please take me,
call me your own,
'cause i want this dream to end
and life begin
