I see, I have awakened you from your zealous slumber

Young and inexperienced with words
What would I say?
So with great urgency
I asked you to go to the prom with me

Is it that hard to see
In every poem, in every verse,
In every hesitation with a sigh
All the poems and rhymes aside

Like the final scream of a banzai warrior
Dedicated to the cause
Focused
She zeroed in

Admiring you, It’s true
I think you’re beautiful, I do
everything you are
I have loved from afar

The mediocre false accuser
The one that wrongly judges every user

In mask, I know thee not
Such vile words off tongue does drip
In hands my ears I swathe
