Maria Andres Biography

I have become interested in writing, poetry and prose, after hanging out with other writers and poets in the virtual world called 'Second Life', there I can meet with other writers, some of them published authors, from around the world. From them I found not only new friends, but also encouragement to try my hand at writing my own poetry to share which I had not tried before now, so I am still very much on a learning curve, but enjoying the creative challenge.)

Las Vegas Whale

A Las Vegas whale
Without a tail
Rolled and trundled about

Moist bulging eyes
Hoping to spy
A wench to pirate

There by the bar
Tall and willowy
Deep dark eyes

His bloated bulk
A treasure laden galleon
Set course toward her

The deep dark eyes
Fixed on the whale
And glittered

He flirted and flattered
She towered above him
Smiling, determined his fate

The Las Vegas whale
Without a tail
Never saw the harpoon.
