I guess that’s how it’s suppose to be

There is something about the winter
That truly warms from outside in
I mean the colorful skies that
Seem to erase all sadness, all sin

Whenever I get on the road and travel
I don't plan to write any poetry
I'll take a break, I tell myself
My vacation will be spent differently.

Were living in a cow kind of world
Green grass and red dirt roads
A sky overhead with cloudy swirls

One day I saw a sweet butterfly
Just as pretty as can be
My coal black tomcat, Sam
Was walking next to me

The sunset was like a fire-sky
That truly lit up my world
Clouds were orange and yellow
Like a paintbrush making swirls

He is a Buffalo of distinction
As he lumbers on uneven ground
He knows that he is special
The handsomest beast around

A lonely little house
Built many years ago
Is deteriorating now
