On Becoming A Poet

How can I become a poet?
I asked this wise old man.
And he told me to walk barefoot
upon the beach and feel the grains
Of sifted sand beneath my feet.
You'll feel the heat of sun-drenched
Pebbles, longing for the cool waters
From the ocean's floor that will create
Steam that rises and pumps your heart
Into a fit of passion and desire
That will set your soul on fire
And inspire creative art.
