    Marva Nettles Collins (b. 1936), African American educator. As quoted in I Dream a World, by Brian Lanker (1989). Collins became nationally renowned for founding the Westside Preparatory School in Chicago (1975), which was remarkably successful ("miraculously" successful, some said) in educating poor, inner-city children.
