Melissa Mary Poems

This is my life, the only thing that I know
Trying to prepare for my future
Miserable as can be doing all work, being lonely
Even though tomorrow is unsure.
...

It's lonely here.
Though I am surrounded by people everywhere I go
I am lonely.
I'm tired here.
...

I broke tonight
and it felt so good
when our lips touched
it all felt right
...

There is no such thing as free will.
Not with you, at least.
You force me to slowly kill myself.
I'm killing you, the same way you're killing me.
...

I'm ready to be your fallback...
I'm ready; I know I'm not the one.
But after all that we've been through
and all the love we shared...
...

I can't control how much I want you
No matter how bad you are for me
I breathe you in and hold you tight
Your aroma is so poisoning.
...

No pictures, no home.
Unwelcome and alone.
Chewed up and spat out-
Where do i go now?
...

It's growing colder now
More dark is setting in
It's getting harder now
I can't hold myself in
...

When the night air touches my skin...
I feel I'm at home, I welcome it in.
And when I'm alone is when I feel me
turning into the night.
...

Like this again,

The feeling's the same.
...

sweet dreams, little girl

sweet dreams and good night
...

The smoke comes out of my lungs
But stays in my mind
A cloud of despair hangs over my head
From what he left behind
...

Meet me in my Dreamland
where all is good and right.
Where all I know is love and peace
and I live by the night.
...

The stars are hiding again.
It's the second night in a row.
They used to be my only friends-
The only ones that know.
...

If I fall and lose it all

If I cry - will you be there?
...

You were my love
You meant everything to me
You told me to be strong
Said it's all meant to be
...

Left out in the winter
Pain emanating from my core.
The windows and doors are locked
Can't feel my heart anymore.
...

Quiet, cold, and broken.
Uncomfortable, numbing, and frozen.
Burnt red skin and cracking ice.
Cold, little tears spilling out of the sky.
...

Tearing apart theses wings on my back
that make me fly.
Tearing apart these wings in the hopes
that I might die.

Melissa Mary Biography

I don't fully understand what to put here, so I'll answer a few basic survey questions. I like a lot of music. I refuse to say all like most people do, because as much as I like country, I hate old country and blue grass, twangy crap. I've been writing poetry since elementary school and I write to get my feelings out, not to accomodate the wants of those who read my poems. Aside from writing, my favorite hobbies are listening to music and reading. I am not the outdoorsy type, however, I am not a couch potato. I went through many hardships in my life, but hey. Who doesn't? Overall, I wouldn't change a thing. If I had been born into a different family or if I didn't have any experiences I have had, I wouldn't be me. I like the me I am today. I think my greatest quality is my emotional flexibility. I can withstand things that I wouldn't wish on anyone.)

The Best Poem Of Melissa Mary

(12/18/10)

This is my life, the only thing that I know
Trying to prepare for my future
Miserable as can be doing all work, being lonely
Even though tomorrow is unsure.

The future looks better and better each day
As the present becomes dimmer and dimmer
I'm hoping my life ends up being worth the wait
Lonely is waiting for the future
