I never really thought about
How much I might miss you,
Should you ever go away:
I guess because I never really imagined
Not having you in my life.
You were the only one
To never promise to
Never leave...
So I always figured you'd be around...

Now I'm sitting before nothing but
Stone and earth,
Talking as though it's you, knowing it's not.
But I didn't know where else
To go; and these words are flowing
Only because you're the only one
Who really understood me.
And this is as close as I thought
I could get...

You never said
You'd never leave...
And you were only my friend
