Michael Marrotti is an author from Pittsburgh using words instead of violence to mitigate the suffering of life in a callous world of redundancy. His primary goal is to help other people. He considers poetry to be a form of philanthropy. When he's not writing, he's volunteering at the Light Of Life homeless shelter on a weekly basis.)
The Inefficiency Of Poetry
This
despicable
world is spinning
out of control
there's not
a poet alive
who can do
a thing about it
We keep
orchestrating
these little word's
thinking it's gonna
make a difference
The system won
all you need is love
tell that to
John Lennon
if you believe
in the second
amendment
Still I waste
my time
with this
dying art form
ripping holes
in my flesh
to expose this
sentimental blood
There's a point
at the bottom
of this pen
I can't say
the same
for this
inefficient poem
