Close your eyes and take a breath. Put your mind at ease.
Rest assured the world will give you everything you need.
When it seems the road is steep and life brings you to your knees,
feel the grass under your feet and listen to the trees.

Since I was a little boy, I wondered if this world
would bring me grief or bring me joy, would bring that special girl
who'd steal my heart and make me smile to think about her face.
And when I started to walk those miles, it seemed a better place

I saw a couple kissing in the street; my heart did long for thee;
I heard a song we loved so much, a simple melody
I felt a raindropp on my cheek, no softer than your kiss.
I tasted candyfloss so sweet; light and pink as lover's lips.

His hair was tangled, his clothes a mess;
his life was unfolding nonetheless.
His face was weathered, unshaven and tired,
but in his eyes, there burned a fire

A silver light as thin as a web creeps into my room
and flickers about just over my head as whispers of perfume.
Faintly mesmerizing as a dream I want to return,
it darts about one moment more, then rides its brief sojourn

I believe in life everlasting. No one dies even when they're not whole.
I believe you get what you pay for. I believe the eyes are the windows to the soul.
I believe it's really not okay to end a relationship with an email.
I believe it's bad karma to laugh at others when they fail.

Walk to the sun and talk to the moon.
All that you prayed for is coming soon.
My love will never leave you, my heart is always near.
My hand is sure, my shoulder strong, my silence deep, my vision clear.

I wear a cross around my neck, a reminder to ever be
the man I am, the man I can, the best for me. And she.
I cross my fingers that one day our paths will cross as they did when
we lived and loved in golden time. I cross myself again

When you need me, close your eyes. When you want to hear my voice,
just listen to the night time breeze. And in your heart rejoice
that we can be again together when memory provides
a path that only we can share. Feel me by your side.

Arise, ye slumb'ring cauldrons of love; I'll test thy strength again.

The Turtle's Journey

The little turtle swam at night in a dark and angry sea.

He was cold and he was tired; there were places he'd rather be.

He looked down into waters so black that light would never dive

but above him star-lit heavens showed his way, his path to life.

He had no time to stop and think, no time to stop and rest;

he was on his life's true journey, he was on his pilgrim's quest.

His loving heart kept him going to a land he'd never seen;

a wondrous place that came to him in a blissful, golden dream;

a garden where small white flowers grew amongst the greenest grass;

where skies were blue and clear each day; and nights would quickly pass.

That place with trees and birds and flowers, he knew it was his home

and if one day he found it, he'd never be alone.

The unknown deep was all he'd known, until he saw her face;

a stone angel looking watch over such a treasured place

that God had blessed it with His love and placed it in the care

of one so true that flowers grew at her feet and in her hair.

He never stopped or wavered from his promise to himself

to find his way one summer day to a home he knew so well.

After many days and nights at sea, he'd found a rocky shore

and climbed out from the water cold to continue on once more.

Across strange lands he crawled at night, safe from birds of prey.

Through rivers and streams, as if in a dream, he carried on each day.

He walked through fields with mice and deer; through forests dark and then …one day

he saw a path lit from the sun in speckled light and golden rays.

He heard an angel singing then and he began to fear.

He thought, "I am too young to die; my home it seems so near."

The angel whispered in the wind, "Fear not, my little one.

Come rest yourself close to me. Enjoy the morning sun."

The turtle crawled into the garden and lay before her feet.

The flowers all around him smiled; the fragrance was so sweet.

He closed his eyes, the end was near; to his surprise, he lost his fear.

But then a kitten found him in between the green and gold

and nudged him with his nose so pink and soft and cold.

He heard a voice so gentle then from high above the ground.

She whispered to the kitten, "Little one. What have you found? "

She moved the flowers and saw him on the angel's feet of stone.

She picked him up, kissed him sweet and whispered, "Welcome home."
