Dying

Where have all the little ones gone,
For the halls are empty,
And my eyes have darkened,
And I cannot find the light,
They left one day, to the market,
How they loved to go there,
But they did not return,
And the money is running short,
Threats of eviction run under the door,
My heart is failing me,
And I cannot get up to get the door,
And I cannot get up to eat,
And I cannot get up to feed my cat,
Where have my little ones gone,
But I cannot get up to get the door,
And I cannot get up,
And I cannot get up.
