Mildred KeelWilliams Poems

Swimming in life’s cesspool trying to not eat of the filth that surrounds me
the waters are murky brown green algae like.
The swimmers are dead dark souls
and I am treading water, trying to keep my head from submerging.
...

If you allow yourself
to be captured by a stallion,
don't expect him
not to be a night mare.
...

You are like a potato,
you show marks of growth
under your skin.
...

Wet caterpillars
rain dropped from soil
Meandering about
trying to find peace

Swimming in life’s cesspool trying to not eat of the filth that surrounds me
the waters are murky brown green algae like.
The swimmers are dead dark souls
and I am treading water, trying to keep my head from submerging.
It is the things I know to occupy time,
the only clean space left
when all that surrounds me is degradation, less than I desire.

The sun is distant from night.
The dark shadows barely separate or shine in dirty water.
All seems hopeless looking down, but LOOKING Up
catching just a glimmer of light is enough
to focus and follow until it reveals more
until it transforms and transfers me
from this place to where I belong
whole and immutable,
sanctified and holy.
Being all that I am forever!
