Murmur Of A Dream

He was looking for perfection
lost without a direction
felt how he was neglected
till he faced the unexpected

He wouldn't believe in chance
yet, he fell in love at a glance
she has invited him for a dance
shall he wake up from this trance

Just a murmur of a dream
to only vanish his esteem
so, his world went black
as the hollow shell cracked
she would have been the cure to his melancholy
if only their song were played to the finale

Resurrected but bereft of hope
craving for what left of his dope
what should have been serendipity
drove him only to the verge of pity

Any point in taking the love adventure
where the ultimate destiny, is a departure
her memory murmurs in his ear
as he bursts into tears
