Broken Hearts

I come to redeem me from the trails I’ve left.
Trails sprinkled with hearts; shredded… shattered… broken… scarred…
Trails with voices echoing curses,
Trails of rivers of tears flowing on flawless cheeks for all the hurt I’ve caused
I come to redeem me with a song; a forgotten song so rusted it cracks…
I come to redeem me from our entwining hurt
I redeem me on keys of reconciliation, on chords of love and strings of trust…
I sing the forgotten song; a song of love that died on our lips…
A song that dried on our hearts; evaporated in the great somewhere and condensed on willing hearts…
I will stand on the sea shores picking the fragments of our hearts washed by the anger we harbored within
Like sea shells, let me glue them together…
Trust me once again…
In the wilderness of bitterness, will I allow the cursing winds to slap me and swallow the very bits of the dust of our hearts that were and soon will be again …
I will let the twigs form a fortress where our love will forever abide
I will take it all in and let it settle within me…
Come my lost Love; let’s take this journey to mend our broken hearts.
